Shocked? Don't get mad at the immigrants, be angry with our leaders who just don't get it. And let them know how you feel.

I am hearing from local radio news stations in the last couple of days, but nothing from the main stream media, about this SPP agreement made by the U.S., Canada and Mexico to bring the three countries into the North American Union in order to eliminate the illegal immigration issue and to attempt to secure all three countries in North America.

Some radio stations are actually debating the issue that Congress has already created a bill and that it's been signed into law, but are waiting till 2008 to spring it onto the people. However I can not find anything at all to support this report.

Controversy follows three-country accord into Canada

To some, it is a "corporate coup d'etat," a conspiracy by big business to turn Canada into the 51st state by stealth. Others see it as a plot to destroy the U.S. by forcing it into a North American union with "socialist Canada" and "corrupt Mexico."

Its defenders hail it as a bold, visionary plan, the only way to give the three neighbours a fighting chance against the twin threats of global terrorism and robust economic rivals such as China.

Skeptics argue it's nothing but an eye-glazing bureaucratic boondoggle, with all the sex appeal of the phone book.

It is the Security and Prosperity Partnership, a sprawling effort to forge closer ties among the three nations in everything from anti-terrorism measures, to energy strategies, to food-safety and pesticide rules.

Launched two years ago by then-prime minister Paul Martin, President George W. Bush and his Mexican counterpart Vicente Fox at the so-called Three Amigos summit in Waco, Texas, the SPP grew out of concerns that security crackdowns would cripple cross-border trade.

With juggernauts such as China and India looming on the horizon, the three countries agreed they had to act fast to stay competitive. Now the SPP has grown into a mind-boggling array of some 300 initiatives, involving 19 teams of bureaucrats from all three countries.

Its stated mission is "to keep our borders closed to terrorism yet open to trade" by fostering "greater co-operation and information-sharing" in security protocols and economic areas such as product safety.

Little-known in Canada, the accord, if fully implemented, could affect almost every aspect of Canadian life, from what drugs you can access, to whether you can board a plane and even what ingredients go into your morning cornflakes.

While you may not have heard of the SPP, you may have heard about some of the controversies it has sparked: Canada's adoption of a no-fly list; negotiations to lower Canada's pesticide standards to U.S. levels; or fears the deal will lead to bulk-water exports.

Liberal party leader Stephane Dion charged Friday that, "under the veil of secrecy," Harper has let the Americans run roughshod over Canada, covertly using the SPP to impose a U.S. agenda on Canada. That's not what the Liberals intended when they signed the deal, which was meant to give Canada a stronger voice in Washington, not turn it into a pale "imitation" of the U.S., he says.

There have been many rumors bounding about with regard to the SPP. From what I have found, many do seem to be Myths, not facts. What do you think?

City officials have overwhelmingly adopted a new law that welcomes and protects the illegal aliens in their city.

New Haven, Connecticut may be the "new haven" for al-Qaeda and other illegal terrorist who have entered the country and are now looking for a new cozy place to live and work on their projects of destruction.

It may be the ideal place in this country for a terrorist cell or criminal gangsters to live. They become residents of the city with legal ID so they can keep their money safe in our banks and get access to city services they otherwise would have trouble getting.

Not to mention the ability to rent or lease large trucks they would undoubtedly need for their projects.

Illegal aliens poised for new haven in Connecticut

As many U.S. cities and states arrest illegal aliens in raids and toughen laws against them, a Connecticut city is offering to validate them under a new, first-in-the-nation ID-card program.

Starting tomorrow, New Haven will offer illegal aliens municipal identification cards that allow access to city services such as libraries and a chance to open bank accounts.

Supporters say the cards will improve public safety and give illegal aliens protections now afforded legal residents. Critics contend that it will unleash a flood of illegal immigration, straining services and wasting taxpayer money.

New Haven officials overwhelmingly approved the program last month in a 25 to 1 vote.

Backers and detractors alike say the program appears to fill a vacuum after Congress failed to act on immigration reform, leaving many towns and cities struggling with how to deal with a growing undocumented population.

Kica Matos, a leader of local Hispanic advocacy group Junta for Progressive Action, said undocumented workers are often targeted by thieves and robbed because they carry cash, a result of not being able to open a bank account.

"Part of the reason they can't open bank accounts is because they don't have forms of identification that were valid," she said.

She said two banks have agreed to accept the new city card, which will be offered to all New Haven residents, as legitimate identification sufficient for opening an account.

You think Hezbollah is only Israel's headache? Wake up. Iranian Hezbollah's spokesman Mojtaba Bigdeli's threat on Tuesday to dispatch 2,000 operatives "to every corner of the world to jeopardize Israel and America's interests" is more than just idle Islamic heavy-breathing.

The Jew-hating terrorists of Hezbollah who call themselves the "party of God" are already here. In America. Plotting attacks. Raising money. Slipping through the cracks.

In May, the New York Post reported on Hezbollah's plans to activate sleeper cells in New York, Los Angeles , Boston and Detroit as the nuclear showdown with Iran heats up. One focal point: "the Iranian Mission to the United Nations, where there have already been three episodes in the last four years in which diplomats and security guards have been expelled for casing and photographing New York City subways and other potential targets." Heightened alert comes in the wake of reports that Iranian crackpot president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met with Hezbollah leaders in Syria earlier this year.

Four years ago, I reported on how information-sharing walls between federal immigration and law enforcement agencies created a path to citizenship for at least one known Hezbollah member. He walked through our figurative front door. The then-assistant district director for INS investigations in New York City and two FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) officials were placed on administrative leave when the bungle was discovered.

Sources informed me the unidentified Middle Eastern male — now a fellow American — appeared on terrorist watch lists and is a member of the Hezbollah terrorist organization. Despite numerous calls from adjudicators in Newark, N.J., handling the alleged terrorist's naturalization case, the FBI and INS reportedly did not respond to requests to turn over the individual's "alien file." The A-file includes biographical and status information and investigative data. It is unclear why INS and the JTTF did not turn over the file, or why the New York office neglected to order the adjudications branch in Newark to put the naturalization process on hold.

Why did INS adjudicators in Newark proceed without viewing the alleged terrorist's file? Adjudicators to this day remain under intense pressure to meet naturalization "quotas." Job-performance ratings and cash bonuses are based on the number of naturalization approvals processed. It's standard operating procedure.

Hezbollah has also enlisted the aid of gullible American women to ease their way into the country.

Jessica Yolanda Fortune hooked up with Lebanon-born Chawki Youssef Hammoud in 1994. The marriage enabled him to obtain a green card-and the cover to operate a Charlotte, North Carolina-based cell that smuggled cigarettes to raise cash for Hezbollah. The terror cell reportedly answered to a senior Hezbollah leadership in Lebanon and was part of a broader North American network responsible for also obtaining dual-use technologies for Hezbollah — including goggles, global positioning systems, stun guns, naval equipment, nitrogen cutters and laser range finders.

Fortune was convicted of marriage fraud in October 2001. Hammoud was convicted of smuggling, credit card fraud, money laundering, and racketeering in June 2002. Fortune's brother-in-law, Mohammed Hammoud, married three different American women. After arriving in the United Stateson a counterfeit visa, being ordered deported, and filing an appeal, he wed Sabina Edwards to gain a green card. INS officials refused to award him legal status after this first marriage was deemed bogus in 1994.

He then married Jessica Wedel in May 1997, and while still wed to her, paid Angela Tsioumas to marry him in Detroit. Tsioumas entered a plea agreement in March 2002 on charges of conspiracy. Her "husband" was convicted on 16 counts that included providing material support to Hezbollah. A total of 25 people connected to the ring were nabbed.

Does the name "Hammoud" sound familiar? Earlier this month, the FBI announced the capture of Assem Hammoud — also a Lebanese-born Muslim like the members of the cigarette-smuggling Hammoud gang. He is suspected of working for al Qaeda on a plot to blow up PATH train tunnels between New Jersey and lower Manhattan with a team of suicide bombers. The 1998 terrorism indictment of Osama bin Laden notes al Qaeda's forged alliances "with the government of Iran and its associated terrorist group Hezbollah."

Together, they've killed American servicemen and civilians around the world.

The Bush administration planned to have 2,500 National Guard troops on our southern borders by the end of June. A new report just out shows that as of June 29, only about half that number are actually there. Many states are claiming they don't have the manpower available right now to help.

However in some areas like Del Rio, the U.S. Border Patrol is reporting a decline in the volume of illegals coming across the border and that arrests are down substantially compared to this time last year.

Immigrant jail policy, Guard presence are given credit for fewer arrests.

Del Rio border influx drops

Nearly 5,000 immigrants were arrested in June 2005 trying to enter the United States illegally through this area. But this June, only about 2,000 people were nabbed after crossing the perilous Rio Grande into the stark and punishing brush country of southwest Texas.

Long overwhelmed by immigrants and smugglers, U.S. Border Patrol officials last week said traffic into the region has plummeted because of increased law enforcement, deployment of the National Guard and an experiment with expedited hearings to curtail the "catch-and-release" phenomenon.

"Everything together has just stopped the traffic," supervisory patrol agent Hilario Leal Jr. said.

As a direct result, smuggling is shifting as far away as Arizona, officials said. And in a meeting here last week with Gov. Rick Perry, several border county sheriffs said the drop in immigrant flow corresponds with significant reductions in major crimes.

The sheriffs, along with state and federal law enforcement officers, participated in a three-week crackdown on human and contraband smuggling in the Del Rio region, which includes a 210-mile stretch of the Rio Grande from here to Eagle Pass.

It's not known when or where along the border the next such enforcement push will take place, however, and it remains to be seen how long the dip in activity in Texas will last.

The blitz, which ended June 26, complemented stepped-up Border Patrol operations in this area but didn't involve the Texas National Guard troops who began arriving in mid-June.

Even so, the Guard's internationally publicized deployment apparently has discouraged illegal immigration into Texas, Leal said.

"The mention of the National Guard coming down, that's had a big deterrence on traffic," he said.

The immigrants and smugglers may be moving to easier less patrolled areas right now as should be expected, however this should also change when we get to the 6000 guardsmen the administration plans on having on our borders by next year.

In his new book, "In Mortal Danger: The Battle for America's Border and Security," Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo. exposes what he calls a concerted effort by the Mexican Mafia and drug cartels to extend their corruptive influence in U.S. urban areas mostly dominated by illegal aliens.

Tancredo says drug "gangs buy local businesses, politicians, power and police departments" in order to continue there control of the market.

Mexican drug cartels take over U.S. cities

Mexican drug cartels operating in cities in the U.S. are buying up legitimate businesses to launder money and using some of the proceeds to win local mayoral and city council seats for politicians who can shape the policies and personnel decisions of their police forces, according to Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., who has led the fight to secure the U.S.-Mexico border and enforce the nation's immigration laws.

Tancredo says some of these small cities have become hostile and dangerous places for legitimate law enforcement officials.

"The Tijuana-based Felix drug cartel and the Juarez-based Fuentes cartel began buying legitimate business in small towns in Los Angeles County in the early 1990s," he writes in his new book published by WND Books. "They purchased restaurants, used-car lots, auto-body shops and other small businesses. One of their purposes was to use these businesses for money-laundering operations.

Once established in their community, these cartel-financed business owners ran for city council and other local offices. Over time, they were able to buy votes and influence in an effort to take over the management of the town. They wanted to create a comfort zone from which they could operate without interference from local law enforcement."

Tancredo, the chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus, now a powerful force within Congress for opposing amnesty plans for illegal aliens and for promoting tougher border security measures, points, as an example, to the L.A. County city of Bell Gardens – where corrupt elected officials under the influence of drug lords actually tried to shut down the police department.

"City officials who would not cooperate with the Mexican-born city manager were forced out of office," he writes. "Eventually, the L.A. County attorney's office moved in, and the city manager was prosecuted on charges of corruption. Unfortunately, Bell Gardens was only the tip of the iceberg. Other Los Angeles suburbs – including Huntington Park, Lynwood and Southgate – became targets for the cartels."

In fact, similar efforts to undermine law and order by Mexican criminal gangs are under way, Tancredo says, in Texas, Arizona and elsewhere.

"The corruption spreading from south of the border is not confined to Southern California," he writes. "In Cameron County, Texas, the former sheriff and several other officials were recently convicted of receiving drug-smuggling bribes. In Douglas, Ariz. – where the international border runs down the middle of the town and divides it from its sister city of Agua Prieta, Mexico – the mayor's brother was discovered to have a tunnel from one of his rental properties going into Mexico."

Tancredo reports he has had confidential briefings with top officials in big-city law enforcement who say there are entire cities under the virtual control of Mexican criminal street gangs and their associated businesses, in some cases, making it dangerous for county, state and national law enforcement officers to venture in and rendering any interdepartmental cooperation impossible.

Tancredo says "America is following in the tragic footsteps of Rome."

In a crackdown called Operation Return to Sender that began in May 2006, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have arrested over 2,100 illegal immigrants across the US.

Officials said the raids are aimed at child molesters, gang members and other violent criminals, as well as people who were deported by the court and then sneaked back into the country.

Officials arrest 2,000 in criminal immigrant sweep

U.S. customs officials arrested more than 2,000 illegal immigrants, gang members and other fugitives in a nationwide sweep, the head of the U.S. Immigration and Customer Enforcement agency said on Wednesday.

The sweep, code named "Operation Return to Sender," has yielded arrests in 34 states since May 26 and comes as the U.S. Congress is debating several immigration measures, including proposals that would tighten border security and create a temporary worker program.

About half of the 2,179 people arrested in the operation had criminal records, and 367 were members or associates of violent street gangs, including the Mara Slavatrucha, or MS-13, Julie Myers, the assistant secretary of the Department of Homeland Security for ICE told a press conference.

"America's welcome does not extend to immigrants who come here to commit crimes," Myers said.

Others arrested included 146 who had convictions for sexual offenses involving minors, and 640 were fugitive aliens who had been issued final orders of removal by an immigration judge and had not complied.

About 829 of those arrested on immigration violations have been deported to their home countries.

Well this all sounds good but are these just "POLITICALLY-TIMED IMMIGRATION RAIDS?" or more of the failed catch and release tactics of the past.

It shouldn't come to surprise anyone to hear Democrats continuing to invite illegal immigrants to vote for them. It shows they will do anything to get a vote. Legal or not.

Sad state of affairs... and we won't fix it!

Keeping with their word, the Minutemen Corps started building the immigration fence along a strip of Arizona farm land Saturday. Hundreds of volunteers showed up to help with the construction and to make a point to the U.S. Congress.

The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps plans to install a combination of barbed wire, razor wire, and in some spots, steel rail barriers along the 10-mile stretch of private land in southeastern Arizona.

They hope it prompts the federal government to do the same along the entire Arizona border.

Minuteman spokeswoman Connie Hair said it would take up to three weeks to build the estimated $100,000 fence. So far, the group has raised $380,000 for more border fences, she said.

Timothy Schwartz of Glendale, Ariz., who was among at least 200 volunteers gathered, said he wants to see a fence along the border from California to Texas.

"We're not going to stop," Schwartz said. "We're going to stay here with a group and keep building."

All I know is amnesty does not work. Let us all remember 1986 when we voted for amnesty thinking it would solve our immigration problems. Now, twenty years later, we have over 12 million illegal immigrants and the problem getting worse.

An extraordinary exchange just took place on the Senate floor over the last 40 minutes. It's the most important debate of the year, in my opinion.

The questions are these: Who do we let into this country and how many?

On one side of the debate: Democrat Sen. Jeff Bingaman of N.M. and Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama.

On the other side, the blubbering open-borders duo of GOP Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Democrat Sen. Teddy Kennedy of Massachusetts.

Bingaman is offering an amendment to cap the number of visas for legal permanent residents at 650,000. The current Senate immigration bill essentially obliterates the current employer-based green card cap of 140,000. Spouses and children currently count against that cap. Under the Senate bill, that would no longer be true. There would be, in effect, no limits. Bingaman's cap would be four times the current rate--yet both McCain and Kennedy are responding hysterically as if Bingaman has proposed some human rights crackdown on the world.

Earlier this year an article by the Dallas Morning News highlighted a problem at the US/ Mexico border in Laredo, Texas with regard to weapons and explosives being smuggled in with the aid of international drug smugglers.

As I've said before, the US immigration issue is NOT all about Mexico.

On the border fence issue, the Senate today by an 83-16 vote, backed the building of border fences along 370 of the 2,000-miles of the US border.

The suggestion of using some of these 12 million illegal immigrants to build our border fence, sounds about right. They claim to work hard, work cheap and they "Love this Country." Right? Well two out of three ain't bad.

The fact that Mexico will not clean up their own house and shore up the economic problems that bring these people here looking for a life, is why we finally need to do this. So let's get to building boys!

The Senate endorsed a chance at citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants Wednesday but also voted to build 370 miles of triple-layered fencing along the Mexican border in increasingly emotional debate over election-year immigration legislation.

Taken together, the votes gave fresh momentum to legislation that closely follows President Bush's call for a major overhaul of the nation's troubled immigration system.

The vote was 66-33 against a proposal that would have removed provisions giving an eventual chance at citizenship to illegal immigrants who have been in the country more than two years.

A few minutes earlier, the Senate had voted 83-16 in favor of construction of the fence and 500 miles of vehicle barriers, the first significant victory in two days for conservatives seeking to place their stamp on the measure.

Let's face it, The illegal immigration problem in the United States is not because of our porous borders or a lack of security, it is caused by the Mexican government's failure to create jobs. It's corrupt government officials stealing from the people, while the riches from oil go south, into the pockets of the elite. It's Mexico's Disgrace

Included in their economic system is a simple scam developed by the government elite and corrupt government officials that causes this massive flight of millions of immigrants north to the US, just to survive. It's understandable the Mexican government would be concerned about the US stopping this immigration fiasco, because the fewer immigrants living in the U.S. and sending American money back to their families, the bigger the dent it puts in their economy. The Mexican economy depends deeply on this money being sent back home. It's part of the plan scam.

It has been estimated at over $14 BILLION annually.
This is $14 BILLION leaving our economy every year. Not a small figure to say the least.

President Vicente Fox said in September, 2003, "Money sent from Mexican workers in the United States to their families back home has reached a record $12 billion in 2003."

Remittances "are our biggest source of foreign income, bigger than oil, tourism or foreign investment," Fox told reporters after a meeting with Mexican-American businessmen.

"The 20 million Mexicans in the United States generate a gross product that is slightly higher than the $600 billion generated by Mexicans in Mexico," Fox said, adding that his country has the ninth-largest economy in the world.

"If we could add up the two products, Mexico would be the third or fourth economy in the world," he said.

Fox said the money transfers grew after Mexican consulates started giving identity cards to their citizens in the United States.

"The cards are working. All doubts have been cleared up," Fox said. "Almost 2.5 million people have them, and we want all Mexicans to have them."

The cards, known as "matricula consular," allow holders to get driver's licenses in some states, open bank accounts and send money home. Police have found them useful when arresting some illegal immigrants.

But critics have raised concerns over whether the cards provide legitimacy to illegal immigrants.

It's a disgrace... and it needs to stop! Now!

The President drew fresh criticism from his GOP base Tuesday for endorsing eventual citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants. In his speech to the nation last night he appeared to be favoring both sides of the coin at the same time.

President Bush stepped to the right and left at the same time on immigration: courting conservatives with tough talk of sending the National Guard to the border and seeking to reassure moderates that a guest-worker program will be part of the mix.

"These are not contradictory goals," he declared in a prime-time address to the nation. Neither side seemed reassured.

Bush's Monday night speech from the Oval Office was an attempt to prod lawmakers and break a long-running political impasse, one that has social conservatives at odds with their business-community brethren as an election to determine the makeup of Congress approaches.

As Bush continues playing this immigration policy juggling act, he may be starting to realize the conservative movement in this country is becoming very frustrated with his unwavering stance on this issue.

Bush is coming out tonight to try and convince the American people to accept his amnesty program, and to explain to us lessor folk why it should be. Well I say, "Hell No."

The Dems are having a field day with this issue, and it appears we are going to hand them a home run. Sen. Harry Reid jumped the Oval Office address today by directing pointed questions for the president as well as a demand to make all illegal immigrants subject to prosecution as felons. Not to mention building a wall along the entire southern border.

The proposed new immigration act on the table now, will allow an additional 100 million new immigrants over the next 20 years into the US. That is 30% of our current population. It's crazy to say the least.

Tonight Bush will say:

“We are a Nation of laws, and we must enforce our laws. We are also a Nation of immigrants, and we must uphold that tradition, which has strengthened our country in so many ways. These are not contradictory goals – America can be a lawful society and a welcoming society at the same time. We will fix the problems created by illegal immigration, and we will deliver a system that is secure, orderly, and fair.”

This song so infuriates me, I can barely compose my thoughts. This despicable act of trying to re-write our National Anthem just shows that these people don't have a clue what being an American means. This is an absolute disgrace. Is there another country on this earth that would tolerate this?

This simply shows that they have no respect for Americans or our culture. They don't understand the meaning of the words of our National Anthem, or what the anthem means to an American.

Let's be honest... the only reason they are here is for the money. They have no plans of integrating into our society. They speak as if they do, only because it's the politically correct thing to do.

These Mexicans think they are showing solidarity with Illegal immigrants by butchering our National Anthem. What they are doing is alienating themselves even further. It just gives more credence to the argument for deportation of all illegals and for support of the Minutemen.

I think this song will justly impassion more Americans against the argument for amnesty because it shows no respect for America.

What next? Maybe we should re-write the 'Constitution' or the 'Bill of Rights' in Spanish, how about the 'Declaration of Independence'? or should I say 'La declaración de la Independencia'?
